Dermamelan Intimate Peel

A professional medical-grade treatment designed to correct intimate hyperpigmentation, improve skin quality, and restore a brighter, more even skin tone within delicate areas.

  • Understanding Intimate Pigmentation

Intimate hyperpigmentation is an extremely common skin concern and can affect patients of all skin tones and ages.

Pigment within intimate areas develops as a result of increased melanocyte activity within the skin. This can be triggered by factors such as hormonal influence, chronic friction, hair removal, inflammation, ageing, tight clothing, post-inflammatory response, and repeated skin trauma over time.

Due to the sensitivity and physiological characteristics of intimate skin, treatment requires a highly controlled and medically considered approach.

  • What is Dermamelan® Intimate?

Dermamelan® Intimate is an advanced professional depigmentation treatment specifically developed for intimate and delicate areas affected by hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone.

The protocol works through a combination of professional in-clinic correction and targeted home management, allowing us to regulate excess melanogenesis while progressively improving overall skin clarity and uniformity.

Unlike superficial brightening treatments, Dermamelan® Intimate is designed to work on the underlying mechanisms involved in pigment formation, helping to create more controlled and long-term improvement.

  • How does the treatment work?

The treatment functions by interrupting the overproduction and transfer of melanin within the skin while simultaneously accelerating controlled epidermal renewal.

This allows accumulated pigment to gradually disperse while reducing the likelihood of ongoing pigment stimulation.

Alongside pigment correction, the protocol also supports improvement in overall skin quality, helping the skin appear smoother, healthier, and more refined.

Because intimate skin is significantly more delicate and reactive than other treatment areas, the protocol has been specifically formulated to maintain efficacy while respecting barrier integrity and skin tolerance.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The initial in-clinic application takes approximately 45 minutes.

Following application, the treatment remains on the skin for around 4 hours before being removed at home.

Patients are welcome to remain in clinic during this time in a comfortable and private environment, or if preferred, you may leave and return home before removal.

  • Homecare is an important part of the Dermamelan® Intimate protocol and plays a key role in supporting and maintaining results.

You will be provided with Dermamelan® Intimate Gel, which is applied nightly following treatment as directed by your practitioner.

This helps to continue regulating pigment production within the skin while supporting ongoing improvement and long-term maintenance.

  • The treatment is generally well tolerated, although some warmth, tingling, or sensitivity may be experienced during application.

As intimate skin is naturally more sensitive, temporary tenderness can occur afterwards, however this is usually manageable and short-lived.

  • Some downtime should be expected following treatment.

The area may feel sensitive and appear slightly red or tight initially, with dryness and light flaking possible over the following days as the skin renews itself.

Detailed aftercare guidance is provided to support healing and optimise results.

  • Improvement develops progressively as the skin renews and excess pigment production becomes more regulated.

Most clientd begin to notice visible improvement from around day 45 onwards, with pigmentation gradually appearing lighter and more even over time.

Homecare is a very important part of the protocol and plays a significant role in the overall outcome. Consistent use of the prescribed Dermamelan® Intimate Gel helps to continue regulating pigment production between treatments and supports longer-term improvement and maintenance of results.

  • Yes. Dermamelan® Intimate has been specifically developed to safely treat pigmentation concerns across a wide range of skin tones.

As intimate hyperpigmentation is often more common within darker skin types, treatment is approached carefully in order to avoid triggering further pigmentation or irritation.

Your skin will always be fully assessed prior to treatment to ensure the protocol is suitable and appropriately tailored to your skin and concerns.
