Lip Augmentation
Lip enhancement tailored to your facial balance
A bespoke approach to lip augmentation focused on shape, structure, balance, and natural-looking enhancement.
At The Look by Louise, lip augmentation is approached individually and anatomically driven rather than following one fixed “look” or trend.
Every patient has different lip anatomy, proportions, movement, tissue quality, and treatment goals, which is why treatment is always tailored specifically to the individual.
Our focus is on creating lips that feel balanced, soft, and harmonious within the face while still respecting natural anatomy and movement.
Our Approach
Lip filler uses hyaluronic acid dermal filler to enhance lip shape, structure, hydration, symmetry, and overall volume.
Treatment can be very subtle and refinement-focused, or more noticeable depending on the individual aesthetic desired and what is anatomically suitable.
Lip augmentation is not simply about making lips larger — factors such as facial proportions, profile balance, lip ratio, movement, support, and overall shape all play an important role in achieving natural-looking results.
Understanding Lip Augmentation
Russian technique vs Classic
Classic
Classic lip filler focuses on enhancing overall lip volume, border definition, hydration, and shape while maintaining a softer and more natural projection profile.
This technique is often preferred by patients wanting subtle enhancement and balanced fullness throughout the lips.
Russian
The Russian lip technique focuses more on vertical height and shape rather than forward projection.
This approach can create a flatter side profile with greater central height and definition, depending on individual anatomy and suitability.
Not every patient is anatomically suited to Russian lips, which is why treatment recommendations are always discussed individually during consultation.
booking your appointment
When booking, there is no need to overthink the amount or technique beforehand.
Clients can simply book directly for either 0.5ml or 1ml, and all treatment planning is then discussed properly on the day with Louise.
This includes assessment of lip anatomy, suitability, technique, product choice, and how much filler would be most appropriate to achieve the desired result safely and naturally.
Treatment prices can range from approximately £225–£450 depending on the product, technique, and amount of filler used, all of which is discussed with Louise during your appointment before treatment proceeds.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
This is discussed individually with Louise on the day of treatment following full assessment of your lip anatomy, proportions, tissue support, and desired result.
Some patients suit a very subtle amount of filler, while others may require a more gradual treatment plan over multiple appointments depending on their goals and starting anatomy.
Our focus is always on achieving balanced, natural-looking lips safely rather than simply adding volume unnecessarily.
-
Swelling is extremely common following lip augmentation and is often most noticeable within the first 24–72 hours.
Some bruising, tenderness, and uneven swelling can also occur initially as the lips heal.
The lips generally settle progressively over the following days, although final results can take around 4 weeks to fully stabilise.
-
Yes — however previous filler history is always assessed carefully prior to treatment.
In some cases, particularly where there is migration, excessive previous filler, poor filler placement, or long-term build-up within the lips, dissolving may first be recommended before additional filler is placed.
This allows us to create healthier tissue, safer treatment conditions, and more balanced long-term results moving forward.
-
In some cases, this is the approach we recommend.
Building the lips gradually over multiple appointments often allows for better long-term tissue support, softer integration, and more balanced overall results.
Adding too much filler too quickly can place excessive stress on the lip tissue and increase the risk of stretching, migration, heaviness, and loss of natural shape over time.
For this reason, Louise often prefers a more gradual and controlled approach, particularly in clients new to lip filler or those wanting larger overall changes safely and naturally.
-
Longevity varies significantly between individuals and depends on factors such as metabolism, lifestyle, lip movement, product choice, and previous filler history.
For patients completely new to filler, the body will often metabolise filler more quickly initially, meaning results may not last as long following the first treatment.
The lips are also a highly mobile area, which naturally causes filler to break down faster compared to some other areas of the face.
At the clinic, we also offer the premium Juvederm® Vycross range, which has been specifically designed for smoother integration and longer-lasting results, with some products designed to last up to 12 months depending on the individual patient and treatment area.
On average, most patients find lip filler lasts approximately 6–9 months, although this can vary considerably from person to person.
At the clinic, we also offer the premium Juvederm® Vycross range as an upgraded product option for clients wanting a softer feel, smoother integration, and longer-lasting results. These advanced fillers are designed to maintain flexibility and natural movement within the lips, lasting up to 12 months depending on the individual client and treatment area.
-
The lips are naturally a more delicate and sensitive area, however topical numbing cream is applied prior to treatment to make the procedure as comfortable as possible.
Most clients describe the treatment as very manageable, with some temporary pinching or pressure during certain parts of the procedure.
We also work carefully and gradually throughout treatment to maintain comfort and minimise trauma to the tissue where possible.
-
For clients simply wanting standard lip filler treatment, appointments can be booked directly without requiring a separate consultation.
Consultations are generally more suitable for clients considering multiple procedures, wanting a full facial assessment, discussing facial balancing, or those wanting a more in-depth treatment planning appointment with Louise prior to treatment.
A £100 non-refundable deposit is required to secure consultation appointments. Should you decide to proceed with treatment on the day, this amount is deducted from the overall treatment cost.

We also offer Profile Balancing as a combined treatment, including the nose, lips, and chin to improve overall facial proportions and side profile harmony.
