What is Lumecca® ?
Lumecca® is the most powerful and effective Intense Pulsed Light therapy (IPL) to remove visible veins and capillaries, pigmentation, sun damage, vascular lesions, rosacea, acne scarring, and melasma. This popular anti-ageing treatment is a quick and comfortable light photo facial treatment with visible results after the first session to restore a clear complexion and rejuvenated skin tone. Lumecca® can be used on any part of the body with excellent results. This treatment has a high specificity and selectivity for pigmentation and redness created by sun damage and is one of the most powerful treatments for this purpose.
What is IPL? (Intense Pulsed Light)

How soon will I see results?
After your first treatment, you will immediately notice cleaner, clearer, brighter, tighter, and smoother skin. Regular, frequent treatments lead to optimal results. Improvements will accelerate after each additional session. Please note that everyone’s skin is unique and individual results may vary.
To get maximum results from your treatment please adhere to the following advice;
For the next 48 hours refrain from any alcohol, strenuous exercise, and make-up application. Please remember, excessive alcohol consumption, smoking, strenuous exercise, and sun exposure can affect and help to reduce the lifespan of your treatment.
How many sessions will I need?
In just 1-3 comfortable treatments, patients notice significant improvements in the complexion and clarity of their skin.
We have 2 different hand-pieces of differing wavelength spectrums, to allow safe treatment of even darker skin types.
We believe in establishing a regular, convenient routine you can stick to for treatment of any issues like acne or uneven skin tone as well as ongoing maintenance to keep your skin clean, bright, healthy, and breakout-free. Our knowledgeable skincare professionals will work with you to create your ideal treatment plan based on your needs.
Multiple sessions provide even better results. The treatment regime depends on the severity of skin damage, skin type, type of treatment (vascular vs sun damage), and energy settings.
How often should I get a Lumecca® Laser facial?
We recommend 1 session spaced 3 weeks apart or if preferred can be monthly but no sooner. Once you have achieved your personal skin goals like clearing acne, sun damage, or scarring, we do recommend a fortnightly to monthly facial to maintain your results. On average, The Look by Louise clients receives 1-3 facials per month.
Does it hurt?
No, not at all. You’ll feel a mild tingling sensation that is noticeable but not painful. The HydraFacial® combined is completely painless and nothing but relaxing yet invigorating.
Are there any risks or side effects?
The most common side effects of laser facials can be erythema, including mild skin irritation, temporary discomforts such as redness and swelling. These will settle within 24 – 48 hours after treatment.
In rare cases, there can be changes in pigment. It can darken or lighten the affected skin, usually temporarily.
Please note a patch test is required on the treatment area prior to any treatment given.
Is there any aftercare?
No makeup to be applied for at least 24 hours after treatment. Try to avoid extreme heat/cold. Following this sun exposure, sunbeds or saunas should be avoided for at least 7 days after treatment.
How will I know I'm not allergic?
We will carry out a small, painless patch test, usually on the treatment area on the day prior to the procedure.
You will then be closely monitored to check for any signs of allergies. If there are no signs of allergy we can then safely proceed with treatment.
